What You Will Build
The center panel is the structural foundation of Fabrica. It is a flat surface where cloth is placed for folding, and it provides mounting points for all 8 modules (4 motorized + 4 follower). This is a simple assembly that mainly involves preparing the pre-printed panel.
Parts & Tools Needed
Parts
- • 1× Center panel (3D printed, largest part)
- • 8× Mounting brackets (3D printed)
- • 32× M3×6mm screws (4 per bracket)
Tools
- • Phillips screwdriver (PH1)
- • Isopropyl alcohol & cloth
- • Fine-grit sandpaper (220-400)
Assembly Steps

Prepare the Center Panel
- a.Remove all support material from the center panel
- b.Sand the top surface smooth (this is where cloth will rest)
- c.Clean the panel with isopropyl alcohol to remove fingerprints and oils
- d.Verify all 8 mounting holes around the perimeter are clear

Install Mounting Brackets
- a.Position the first mounting bracket on the edge of the center panel
- b.Align the bracket with pre-marked positions (check 3D model for reference)
- c.Secure with 4× M3×6mm screws from the underside of the panel
- d.Repeat for all 8 mounting brackets around the perimeter
💡 Layout: Place brackets at 4 edges—2 on each long side, 2 on each short side. Motorized modules go on left & right, followers on top & bottom.

Final Inspection
- • Verify center panel is flat (place on table, check for rocking)
- • All 8 mounting brackets are firmly attached
- • Brackets are evenly spaced and aligned
- • Top surface is clean and smooth
