Common Issues FAQ
Quick solutions for the most frequent problems
Q:The robot won't turn on. What should I do?
First, check that your 5V power supply is working and correctly connected to the PCA9685 board. Then, check that the Pico is properly seated and getting power. See the 'Power Troubleshooting' guide for more details.
Q:One of the panels is jittering. Is it broken?
Not necessarily. Jittering is often caused by a poor ground connection or insufficient current from the power supply. Try using a 5V 5A power supply and ensure all GND pins are connected together.
Q:The folding isn't consistent. How can I fix it?
Check that your servo horns are tightly screwed onto the shafts. If they slip even a tiny bit, the angles will be wrong. Also, ensure you are placing the clothes in the exact same spot each time.
Q:I get an I2C error in the console. What's wrong?
This usually means the Pico can't talk to the PCA9685 board. Check your SDA and SCL wiring (and ensure they aren't swapped). Also, verify the PCA9685 has power.
